Thanks to all our new wonderful fellow gardening friends who attended today’s workshop, we can’t express well enough in words what a joy it is to share our space and passion with so many enthusiastic and engaging individuals. This was our first of what we hope to be many more workshops so thanks eternally for your patience, gratitude and support. All the success of the season to all our local growers out there! Lots of big happenings this weekend, more plant pickup times coming your way soon, official launch of our Airbnb, garden consults and so much more! But for now, a little break. May 15, 2019 compared to today. We increasingly have less paths and more vegetation, and our methods haven't changed. The garden grows around us and us with it.
We're so excited to share our space with everyone today with our first home workshop. We hope everyone walks away feeling a little more confident, empowered, and content with their own spaces. We all have something to learn from Mother Earth no matter how long we've been paying attention to her. Gardens should be a place of beauty, nourishment, and peace; not tasks, frustrations, mistakes. (I feel like I'm invoking a Bob Ross quote there).
There are still a few spaces left if you'd like to join. See yinz this afternoon from 2-4 -Chris and Josh

Bombus bombus (great onomatopoeia, thanks @im_the_marmar ) closing out the weekend. My favorite meditation is just watching them enjoy the yard as much as I do. It's almost like the different species of bees all have different personalities. There is already one sleeping on a low bloom while others bring down arms of the lavender while they enjoy this day's opened flowers. The bumblebees certainly seem to be the species I most desire to emulate. It's certainly been a record year for them in our yard, disturbing the soil less and less every year gives them more habitat to nest in. I'd love to find where they are all coming from. No pesticides, having a fountain water source, having great neighbors who also respect the environment, and having nearby rock walls and trees also contribute to nesting sites. I can't wait to see what they crowd around after the lavender.
